About Me
English and learned with and from my students for 25 years. I have experience teaching all levels and all grades, with a specific emphasis,
passion,
and expertise in grades 10 and 12 university English and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. For 19 of my 25 year teaching career I served as the English Department Chair and worked collaboratively with all the teachers within the department. Retiring was bittersweet, as I absolutely loved my career as a teacher, an advisor (students’ council, link crew), a coach (track, volleyball, soccer, badminton), and interacting with students on a daily basis. Teenagers are really amazing.I look forward to working with intermediate and senior level students again in the capacity of an English tutor in my home. I am available Monday to Friday and my time is flexible during these days.
I live in Victoria Harbour and I can be seen walking my dogs on the nearby trail, around the town, and through the woods. My husband and I also spend the warm weather cycling and hiking, and the winter months snowshoeing. All these outdoor activities begin right outside our door in this lovely town.
